Although the directions instruct you to sew the bow directly to the snood, I felt this did not allow for easy washing. I have sewn my bow separately onto a hair comb which allows you to gently hand wash the snood without harming the ribbon. It also allows you to change the bows to coordinate with different outfits or wear without the snood altogether. Last but not least, when you place the hair comb gently through the top of the snood into your hair, it will help it stay in place.
