The Perky Snood done the Peachy Keen way!
I always strive for the highest authenticity when recreating a vintage pattern, so using the proper material is a must. The pattern called for wool yarn so I have found a lovely blend of Merino Superwash that is soft and comfy to wear on top of looking beautiful and authentic.
This is a soft white, between a bright and off-white. I added a yellow bow but If you desire a different color, it can be easily done. See our Hair Bow listing to purchase other colors!
To keep this looking beautiful after many, many uses I have made one small change. Although the directions instruct you to sew the bow directly to the snood, I felt this did not allow for easy washing. I have sewn my bow separately onto a hair comb which allows you to gently hand wash the snood without harming the ribbon. It also allows you to change the bows to coordinate with different outfits or wear without the snood altogether. Last but not least, when you place the hair comb gently through the top of the snood into your hair, it will help it stay in place.
I also apply fray check to the ends of the ribbon so it will not fray and look lovely for longer.
